Biography: Rachel Wright received her BA in Political Science from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, and her MSW with an emphasis in Public Services and PhD in Social Work form the University of Utah. Dr. Wright has worked with reproductive health organizations as a researcher, community organizer, and manager of public affairs and policy, and with refugee resettlement agencies as a caseworker, program developer, and community liaison. Her dissertation explored factors impacting the use of emergency contraception among heterosexually active women. Dr. Wright’s research interests include unintended pregnancy, influences on reproductive health care, men’s experiences with and perceptions of contraception, and the acculturation experiences of families with refugee status. She grew up in Wisconsin, loves road trips, reading, and spending time exploring the outdoors with her family.
