On March 5th, many of our students and faculty traveled to Raleigh, NC to participate in the bi-annual Advocacy Day. This is a 1-day event where social work professionals and students throughout North Carolina convene to learn about the legislative process and get hands-on advocacy experience. Students and faculty were able to schedule meetings with our state legislators to discuss important policy issues. They also had the opportunity to tour the NC General Assembly and attend legislative committee meetings while interacting with social workers across the state.
