Dr. Kelly Williams received the Service Award. | "Dr. Kelly Williams is a quiet, unassuming leader whose very significant service contributions are often below the radar. Her service is a reflection of our profession’s values of social justice and the dignity and worth of all people," wrote a nominator for Dr. Williams. Dr. Williams serves on the board of the Community Care Clinic and the Faculty Senate's Committee on Student Welfare.
Dr. Mike Howell received the Teaching Award. | A "national treasure" is how one student described Social Work faculty member Dr. Mike Howell (left) in a nomination for the Outstanding Teaching Award for the Beaver College of Health Sciences. Another wrote: “He is the only professor I know who could make research methods fun and interesting, and it’s clear that he cares so much about his students.”
Dr. Gail Donaldson received the Making A Difference Award. | Over the past year, Dr. Gail Donaldson led two of the college's six departments, and for that amazing feat, was recognized with a Making A Difference Award. A nominator shared that Dr. Donaldson's commitment to people and programs she works with, attention to both the smallest detail and big picture in any situation, thoughtfulness and insight are amazing. Now she has returned to chairing just one department this year, but is photographed (center) with Dr. Heather Thorp and Dr. Deborah Phillips from the Department of Social Work, where she served as Interim Chair for the previous academic year. |
