Rejuvenation Week Activities
The Social Work Care Collaborative distributed Grab’N Go Art Kits for Rejuvenation Week on March 23, 2021. The information sheets and materials lists are now available through our website, so you don’t have to miss out on the fun!
Self-Care Zine
Create a self-care zine! You will need 8.5 by 11 inch paper. Printer paper would work. You can use this same paper, or find colored or construction paper for a cover page! The materials can be as varied as you would like! A few suggested materials include:
Materials to draw/color with (colored pencils, markers, crayons, even paint!)
Stickers
Collage Materials (magazines, newspapers, or printed pages) - remember the tape or glue for collaging!

DIY Sand Trays
Zen gardens are known to promote relaxation, spur creativity, and increase concentration, focus, and mindfulness. For this activity, you will need:
A shallow container
Sand (you can gather some yourself on an adventure to a sandy shore, or we recommend aquarium sand you can find at a pet store)
Decorations! What will you place in your zen garden? Rocks, moss, small figurines, or anything else you can think of can all work! Remember to leave room to rake or draw in the sand!

Make an Art Journal
Journaling can create a deeper sense of self-awareness, reduce stress, encourage creativity, and allow us to gain some perspective on our thoughts and feelings. We encourage you to give it a try and see where the process takes you! We suggest:
A Journal with blank pages
Materials to draw/color with (colored pencils, markers, crayons, or paint)
Collage Materials (magazines, newspapers, or printed pages) - remember the tape or glue for collaging!
Anything else you feel called to use, from pressed flowers to poems to song lyrics

Coping Skills Toolbox
You can create your own “toolbox” to hold things that are calming or grounding for you all in one place. Decorate a box to hold all these, or choose a bag so you can bring your selected items with you wherever you go! All you need is something to hold the items you collect!
