Biography: Kristin Harmon, MSW, LCSW, is a double graduate of App State. She joined the faculty part-time in 2014 and then came full-time to the faculty in 2016 as a Lecturer. Kristin was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2021. She has been practicing as a social worker since 1994 primarily in the medical field. Kristin worked as a hospital social worker for 10 years, then as a hospice social worker for 5 years. After completing her MSW she began working in the behavioral health field and developed a specific interest in working with trauma and first responders. Kristin has taught across the curriculum but currently is focused mainly on field courses and helping students transition to the professional social work role. Kristin also led a study abroad program to Uganda and is hoping to resume that work after having to suspend the program during the pandemic.
